Presentation Skills Training With the Hong Kong Advocacy Training Council

Presentation Skills Training

In November, I partnered with the Hong Kong Advocacy Training Council and Punch Presentations to deliver a performance and presentation skills coaching to 12 pupils preparing to pass their Bar exam in Hong Kong to become barristers. The presentation skills training focuses on 3 elements:

  • Physicality:

How to use body language to project confidence and command the room.→ Maintain eye contact to create connection and engagement→ Use hands to support messaging→ Use breathing to remain calm and relaxed→ Display physical intent to show composure

  • Voice

How to use the voice and tone to highlight key points and communicate more clearly and effectively,→ Voice projection and resonance→ Strategic intonation→ Thoughtful pace and breaks

  • Communication

How to use both verbal and non-verbal language to deliver a clear, effective and engaging presentation. The feedback on the performance is given to each student in a personalized way with tangible and specific actionable items so that they can work on their presentation skills. We recreate a court environment so that the students can practice in a realistic scenario and prepare for the exam.
