Inclusive Language: A Keynote for UBS

Inclusive Language: Partnering with UBS to turn language into a catalyst for inclusion

In October 2024, I had the honor and privilege to deliver a presentation on Inclusive Language for UBS Investment Bank APAC in Hong Kong.100+ participants joined the session in person and virtually from APAC and Europe.I shared real-life examples, personal and professional storytelling and a case study to explore our language with constructive and inquisitive lenses.- How does unconscious bias impact the way we speak?- How can we use a more inclusive language that welcomes everyone?- What principles can we use to ensure everyone feels represented in the conversation?- What opportunities do we have to incorporate inclusive language in our day-to-day work and life? These are some of the topics covered during the presentation. The feedback from the participants was very positive and they left with 1 personal commitment:Use the power of language to promote equity and inclusion in the workplace and beyond.Special thanks to UBS APAC DE&I Forum and to my fantastic host and moderator, Christine Hsu, Managing Director at UBS AG for helping me create an engaging experience.
